We look forward to having you join us!
April 12, 2014 11:30 am–12:30 pm Chair Yoga with Marney (through New Leaf Market) FREE!
Chair Yoga is a wonderful way to experience the benefits of yoga without getting up and down from the floor. This class will include stretching and yoga postures done sitting in a chair and standing using the chair for balance, as well as breathing and relaxation techniques. Chair yoga is ideal for those with limited mobility or stamina, moderate physical limitations, or transitioning from illness/injury. Complicated maneuvers are not part of this class, but the enjoyment and benefits of yoga certainly are. Instructor: Marney Richards is a certified Kripalu Yoga Instructor, Physical Therapist Assistant and Licensed Massage Therapist and teaches yoga at Namasté. FREE! Click here to register at New Leaf online, or contact Jean Crozier for more info at (850) 942-2557 or email@example.com. Questions? Marney: 850-284-3146 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Come join us for this special event, Friday night through Sunday noon. This retreat will be a blend of relaxing and having fun while practicing lots of yoga, pranayama, and mediation. Enjoy the spectacular beaches of St. George Island, paradise practically in our own back yards. All you need is a desire to do more yoga and learn more deeply about the practices. You will be skillfully guided by Ellen, an experienced teacher/leader, while enjoying the support and companionship of a wonderful community of fellow travelers. Breathe, relax, renew, swim, and enjoy the pleasures of beach life and the deepening of your practice, and still be back home at the end of the weekend. Cost is $250 for Friday–Sunday, with an optional third night (5/8/14). See complete details on Ellen’s website. Space is limited, so register soon. Contact Ellen with questions at email@example.com or (850) 556-2625.
FREE (donation) CLASS on Fridays!
Namasté Yoga offers this donation class as a gift to our community every Friday from 5:30–6:30 p.m., with optional live gong music 6:30–6:50. The class is open to everyone—those new to yoga, as well as current Namasté or other yoga students. All community yoga classes are taught at a gentle level and are accessible to all. If you’ve been curious about a particular style of yoga, our community class offers you an easy way to experience something new. You will have an opportunity to experience a different teacher each week, teaching her particular style of yoga. Just come and donate whatever amount you can, or accept the class as a gift. All donations for the class will go to the Refuge House, a local organization that provides direct services to battered women, their children and sexual assault survivors, as well as works to eliminate the conditions in society that allow such violence to continue. No pre-registration is necessary. Please try to enter class by 5:25 p.m. so the class can begin on time.
Seva is a Sanskrit word meaning “selfless service,” a core tenet of yoga and part of Namasté’s vision to support and contribute to our community in a positive way. This class is part of Namasté’s seva, reminding us of our connection to others. It is a spiritual practice that expands the hearts of the giver and receiver. Please spread the word about the class and plan to join us.
