Photo of Charlene CappelliniCharlene Cappellini, MA, MLS, KYT, YAT, spent many years as an academic educator before beginning the path of yoga instruction. After many years as a student with Loretta Armer, she received her first yoga teacher training and certification from Dr. Armer's Namaste Yoga Teacher Training Center, 1999-2000. She also received training and certification from the Kripalu Yoga Center (2004) and is a Yoga Alliance Certified teacher (2005). In August 2007, Charlene completed training with Judith Lasater and now is a certified to Relax and Renew trainer. Recently she has become very interested in the Viniyoga tradition and has done some work with Gary Kraftsow. She has been practicing yoga since 1985. She is also a second degree Reiki practitioner.

At Namaste, Charlene offers Gentle and Restorative yoga classes. Her Gentle Yoga classes generally follow the Kripalu tradition with Viniyoga overtones, using an organic approach that encourages students to honor the wisdom of their own bodies and unique individual needs. Each class offers instruction on developing core stability to increase strength and endurance, support the spine, improve alignment, and overall well-being. We learn breathing techniques that not only support the postures, but also reduce stress and promote respiratory and spinal health. Each class ends with a deep, meditative relaxation.

Charlene’s Restorative classes are designed to assist those students who are recovering from an injury, illness, or major life stress or anyone who is in need of deep physical relaxation and restoration. This special type of yoga offers students a way to deeply relax their bodies—no matter what their physical ability. Restorative classes are generally offered every other month as a four-week series.
