Yoga for Stress Relief

Viniyoga, which is largely the approach in this class, is wellness-based and uses breath as way of relieving stress and guiding the individual to their fullest expression of each posture. Each class will have an intention. It could be to prepare for a particular pose or it could be to shift one’s energy. For example, practices might make you feel more energized, balance you emotionally, or help you feel relaxed and better able to sleep. Movements are generally slow (except for flow work) and the focus of breath changes from gentle to intense. To shift neuromuscular patterns, repetition and staying in postures is necessary, along with constant attention to breath. Most classes include work on shoulders, hips, low back, sacrum and abs. All levels of practitioners will benefit and are welcome.
