Gentle Yoga

Thursdays 9:30–11:00 a.m.

Gentle Yoga classes follow the Kripalu tradition with Viniyoga overtones, in an organic approach that encourages you to honor the wisdom of your own body and unique individual needs. Each class offers instruction on developing core stability to increase strength and endurance, support the spine, improve alignment, and overall well-being. We learn breathing techniques that not only support the postures, but also reduce stress and promote respiratory and spinal health. In the next few months, we will also use techniques from Gary Kraftsow’s Yoga for Transformation to study some of the ancient teachings and deepen our practice of yoga. Each class ends with a deep, meditative relaxation.
