Yoga for Body, Heart, Soul and Mind

with Gretchen Hein

Tuesdays 9:30–11:00 a.m. and Thursdays 5:30–7:00 p.m.

Yoga allows us the opportunity to know ourselves more clearly and deeply, to explore the territory where body, mind and soul meet physically, emotionally and spiritually. As we practice, our inner conflicts begin to dissolve and we experience a more expansive and true sense of our inherent nature. In this class, suitable for all levels, including beginners, we will use the basic hatha yoga practices of breathing (pranayama), postures (asana), attention and intention (dharana) in a meditative flow (dhyana) to develop strength and flexibility; to cultivate peace and equanimity. Poses are taught in a clear, step-by step manner offering modifications as needed. Students are encouraged to develop sensitivity and attune to their needs. Classes will conclude with a deep relaxation and time to integrate the experience.
