Namasté Yoga in Tallahassee offers daily yoga classes with teachers certified in a variety of yoga traditions, currently including Kripalu Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, and Iyengar Yoga. Classes are suitable for beginners as well as those with a committed practice. All classes focus on integrating body, breath, mind and spirit, while building strength, promoting self-awareness, and cultivating compassion. We welcome anyone interested in exploring yoga for the first time as well as those with an ongoing yoga practice. Visit our Yahoo! Groups page and join our mailing list.
Namasté Yoga is located at Abundance Wellness Center (view directions and a map) which is located off John Knox Road in the Woodcrest Office Park. The yoga studio is in the back of the building. Please drive to the left of the building, park in the back, and enter through the small fenced backyard. It is fine to come in the front door, too—just come!
Winter Update
Happy New Year! This is a time of new beginnings. We hope you will resolve to put more yoga in your life in the New Year.
Three new Monday classes are being added to the schedule. Mary Bradford will teach Yoga for Beginners at 1:00–2:30 p.m. and Prenatal Yoga from 2:45–4:15 p.m. beginning January 4. Ellen Shapiro will teach Healing Hot Yoga from 8:15–9:45 a.m. beginning March 1.
Upcoming Workshops at Namasté
Contact Yoga with Ellen and Chantel. March 14th, 1-3:15 p.m. Sometimes called Partner Yoga, Contact Yoga is a wonderful way to explore yoga interactively. Bring a friend, your significant other, a co-worker, a yoga or gym buddy, or just yourself and we will partner up in class. Yoga for Desk Dwellers with Marianna Tutwiler. Need an after lunch energizer? Tired of being tired at work? Do you have tension headaches? Do your hips and back ache by the end of the day? If you answered yes to any of these questions, come to a one hour workshop and learn easy stretches that you can do at your desk so you can feel better and improve your focus and energy while you work. You'll receive a handout that you can take back to your desk for easy reference. March 20th and April 24th 11:30–12:30. Cost is $10 per class. All passes expire after three months. Passes may be shared or transferred. No refunds or credit for expired passes.
Purchase passes at Namasté from any instructor at any class.
Preparing for Classes
Eat lightly or not at all for at least 2 hours before class. Dress in comfortable, loose clothing. Some mats and blankets are available, but you may want to bring your own and a bottle of water. We also have ties and props. For heated classes, please bring a large towel to cover your mat and a small towel for wiping.
